Description

goes with my song, "honesty." you can listen to it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5bMk0…

I'm sick and tired of dishonest people, I really am. things would be so different if I ruled the world. but unrealistic dreams are unrealistic.

you know who you are. you know you're lying. and I know you're a liar. you think I don't know, but I do. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

I'm also against lying, but not for the reasons you are.

I have no moral qualms with lying, myself. I've lied a few times in my life, but I've been doing it less and less recently, for reasons I'll mention in a bit.

My main problem with lying is pragmatic. Think about it: Typically, when you lie, it's because you've done something wrong, and you're trying to escape punishment. That usually never works out, because if people REALLY want to find out the truth, they'll find it eventually. And once they do, you have a double whammy on you - the thing you originally did, AND the lie. So, what ends up happening is you just dig yourself even deeper.

That's why I've been making efforts to stop lying, because, to be perfectly honest, 9 times out of 10 it just makes things even worse.

And don't even get me started on when people realize you were lying, and then you continue to insist you were being honest. Like, you've been caught, so admit you were in the wrong already (Just to be clear, I DON'T mean "you" as in you specifically, I just mean "you" as in, like, a generic person).

PS: I was kinda worried about admitting I've lied in the past, but it's usually best that you come clean with stuff now, so it doesn't come back to bite you later. And also so you can move on while you still have some form of credibility.
