Pip

this is pip, my new baby. i tell ya, i have NEVER had such a well behaved hamster. kosho ni comes very close though. i came home from work, and he was frozen, listening to the sounds i was making. now, hamsters freeze while listening to try and determine if there's an oncoming threat. there are a lot of new sounds in my house that pip has to get used to, and one of them is me coming home. so he was frozen for like ten minutes, so i took him out to sooth his fear. i took a fuzzy blanket and put it on my lap and snuggled him there like i've done with all my hamsters. he remained frozen for another ten minutes before he finally started to move. then he was moving around normally, and then he started cleaning himself on me, which means he trusts me, so that made me super happy.

then i put him back and he froze again, listening to me talk. i thought, "this is perfect!" cause i don't wanna use my flash on his delicate little eyes, and it's night, so the light isn't good. so i set my camera up on the tripod and set the aperture accordingly, and i made little "loolooloo" sounds to keep him listening, and took some pictures. i took a few others, but i only kept this one cause it was the best.

right now he's running in his wheel. :3
