Playing with Fire - Ch. 4: Detention pg. 13

well, there you have it. as i promised back in chapter 3, there would be no misleading daydreams or ANY type of dream for that matter. but remember in the last page, i said things weren't as they appear.

you were hoping, i'm sure, that this was it. THIS had to be the moment where they completely give in to eachother... but it's not. "there. now we're even." that's zim's excuse. because dib was freaking out so much, it was only fair to kiss him back and show him that... well, not that it's OKAY, persay, but that... well god, even i don't know what zim was trying to show, for he still doesn't want to express... well... affection, even though he's already done so involuntarily in chapters 1 and 2. he's been on earth long enough to be corrupted in the human sense, i.e., he's familiar with the crude words the humans use in the english language, and he has a very VERY general idea of how human relations work, though he doesn't understand completely. he is naive in that sense. how "one thing leads to another," he does not know. he DOES, however, know that certain things can be said to show... i guess "friskiness" can be the only word that would fit. for example, in chapter 1, dib idly asks, "do you even have genetalia?" in an indignant way. zim replies with "wanna find out?" the second example is when dib says, "fuck you," in chapter 3, and zim responds with, "name the time and place." zim understands that much. however, in chapter 2, zim shouts, "I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU DIB!!!" he MEANT he wanted to spend the night because he was afraid of ghosts getting him... but we all know what dib's mind automatically went to. this is where zim is naive, and he's VERY inexperienced in body langauge. he may know how to talk the talk to an extent...

"there. now we're even." almost as if it was part of the fight... and almost as if it's ended in a truce. in a way, it's sort of depressing.

oh, and i forgot to add... DIB TOTALLY IS TRYING TO RESIST TAKING ZIM IN HIS ARMS AND HOLDING HIM!!!!! XD
