"ASHI" stands for "Animatronic Socializing Humanoid Interface." this particular model was labeled as a reject by the factory after tests showed that her behavior was clumsy and awkward. she was going to be destroyed with the other factory rejects, but she escaped and later found her way to the boarding house.

Ashi tends to socialize with most of the creatures just fine because she was designed for human interaction. however, when trying to talk to an actual human, she stutters, has problems carrying a conversation, and might say something that might be offensive. of course, she doesn't mean it. she'll fumble with objects as she gets nervous around humans, or will stumble over her own feet while walking. despite her faults, she is still extremely kind and gentle, and any human with enough patience to deal with her social awkwardness would be lucky to have her as a friend.

my inspiration for her is strongly based on chobits, so a lot of her attributes and behaviors are similar to a persocom, including the way her eyes shine when processing data. (example: reitanna-seishin.deviantart.co…)

with these characters, I'm taking the easy way out and tracing bases, though, for those of you who have used bases, you know that even the best ones have serious proportion problems, so I end up tweaking them anyway. I had to narrow the body a bit with this one, it was way too wide for what I needed.
