Mermaid - Lily

lily is one of the seven mermaids that live in the house. she is the ABSOLUTE most snooty, arrogant, spoiled, show-offy girl you'll ever meet, and she's extremely materialistic. she'd choose a bottle of hairspray over one of her own friends. she loves to shop, getting the most expensive brand name stuff that's "in" during that time. if it's not "in," it's not worth her time. she'll get a lot of her stuff imported from other countries because apparently if it wasn't bought outside of the US, it's not "exotic." I don't think she understands that a lot of stuff in the US was not MADE here. whenever lily buys something new, she loves to show it off to anyone and everyone, and even if she's already shown it, she'll say, "have you seen my [insert name of item here]?" and show it AGAIN. however, despite how unpleasant she can be, she is THE go-to for fashion tips of any kind. it's juts a matter of tolerating her long enough to get her advice since she'll pretty much bash everything about you in the process.

with these characters, I'm taking the easy way out and tracing bases, though, for those of you who have used bases, you know that even the best ones have serious proportion problems, so I end up tweaking them anyway. I'm surprised I was able to fix this one! the proportions were AWFUL! but I liked the pose. it took some time, but I managed to turn slender mermaid with broken appendages into a regular, normal looking mermaid... though after coloring her, I realize how much she looks like a goldfish. that's alright, eliza said she'd get the mermaids some goldfish for them anyway, so she won't be alone. funny, Kelly is the one with a GOLD tail. o_O I have a headache.
