Schizoaffective Other Official Design (MALE Child)

Description

"Reitanna, you're designing characters in the sims and stuff, why don't you design Others as well?" asks my brain, who had only decided to come up with the idea two days ago.

yes... wynaut? I'm in the process of designing Others that belong to four of the members of Paradise Lost, but Spencer's Schizoaffective Other, Reck, did not have even a concept for his species. so... here's the official design. on the far left is Spencer, the Host, just to show a comparison. now, I wanted to make these Others particularly scary because this disorder is basically a mix of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. as someone who dealt with a Schizophrenic parent, and am also Bipolar type II, I can safely say that I would NOT want to have this disorder, and I commend anyone who has to deal with this for the rest of their lives. anyway....

Schizoaffective Others have much darker skin that their Hosts, but also lighter colored hair. They look very mean and angry, even when happy, which is something that they don't like about themselves. They often have much sharper facial features than their Host, and even as children, are super buff. Consequently, they are amazingly strong and fast. They have large, pointed ears, a black tail that resembles a lion's, teeth that appear to be stained with blood (though that's their actual color, it's not really blood... sometimes), each eye has three irises and pupils set in a horizontal row, the tongue is like the Host's except much longer, they have sharp black nails, and black horns. The horns of a male are different than a female; they are bigger and have more "branches" (I will have to make a female one to demonstrate). The Other's clothes are the same as the Host's, except impossibly black, to the point where no details can be seen, as if light is 100% absorbed into them instead of bouncing off certain areas like normal real world objects do. If the Host suffers from insomnia, the Other will not need to blink. Their blood is crimson like a human's, except a few shades darker, almost black, just barely being able to tell it's indeed red.

Depending on the type of symptoms the Host experiences, Schizoaffective Others can behave in a multitude of different ways. First off, they all experience auditory and/or visual hallucinations. Second, they could have very short tempers, being easily angered, or they could show extreme episodes of either severe depression (depressive type) or mania (Bipolar type). Other symptoms include fixed delusions that they believe to be real, but are false, disorganized thinking (jumping from one topic to a completely different one for no reason), and general recklessness and tendency to take risks. Treatment involves medication (candy) and/or psychotherapy.

The Host usually struggles deeply with this type of Other, but with treatment, it is possible to become friends with it, and even work together to make sure life is as normal and peaceful as possible. Without treatment, the Host will be more prone to hate their Other, and they will be in an abusive relationship, mental and/or physical. However, there are some cases where, if the Host has multiple Others that severely impact the way they think, the Host and Other will be on good terms just because the Host cannot form rational thoughts.

A Schizoaffective Other's dimension looks like the real world, except with inverted colors and upside down. The Host and creatures walk on the sky/ceiling instead of the ground/floor. Unlike the real world, doors could lead to completely different places that they should, turning down certain streets can cause you to end up in the exact place you were before, and entering particularly dark areas could transfer you to an event in your past that caused you quite a bit of harm. A few creatures will resemble real people that you know, and they will try to trick you into thinking you're still in the real world, but other monsters are just like they would be in other dimensions, depending on the Host. Within this dimension, there is a strong scent of rust with a hint of sulfur, though there doesn't seem to be a logical source.

I dunno if I forgot anything. so yeah, Spencer deals with, not just Schizoaffective disorder, but Schizophrenia, Manic Depression, Schizoid Personality Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder, so he is actually mentally insane. He's not medicated, being homeless, so his behavior is so erratic and extreme, the other kids sort of let him do his own thing, though he is decently friendly toward his friends. He's still unpredictable and VERY dangerous, but he is on very good terms with all six of his Others because of his inability to form any rational thought. He is also incredibly intelligent, but can come off as stupid simply because he can't tell what's real and what's not. In fact, he often refers to his fellow faction members as hallucinations, believing that his actual hallucinations are real instead. They've all gotten used to this because it doesn't seem to affect how Spencer treats them. still, a lot of conflicts arise because of Spencer and his Others.

I'm personally unsure how Schizoaffective disorder works with Schizophrenia and Manic Depression (Bipolar Disorder) on top, but I imagine all symptoms are more extreme and spastic. I dunno, I'm not a psychologist. :/ that's what makes creating these creatures so difficult. I can create mine just fine because I know them, but having to create ones that I don't have to deal with is tricky.

This is really nice! One of my favorite other designs-
I would have at least 3 others; ADHD, GAD, Social Anxiety... how fun...?
